One of the biggest turning points in life is waking up one faithful morning to see yourself an adult. All through our lives as children, we all admire adults and elderly ones almost every single day. No single day will pass without us wanting to be police, army, engineers, medical doctors, professors… This is not even just wanting to be such in future, no, we wanted to be all these at the spot.
The above is a typical example of children’s admiration for adults.
Being an adult, however, is a turning point in life not only do we totally change on how we see things but how we do them as well.
It’s very true that life exists in cycles, the cycle of life is nothing but stages we pass in lifetime. In humans, we have two major stages of life – a child and an adult. Other sub-cycle exist but below are the two major.
Coming directly to our adult lives we turn from harmless to unpredictable being. We were protected from the world but at the adult stage, the world might seem to be protected from us.
A child is like a careless dove, an adult is like a careful snake.
A child says a lot of bad things with pure mind, no pretence, no deception.
An adult says a lot of good things but the crooked mind is an exact opposite of the utterances.
A child wakes up makes many friends and enemies, go back to the bed and wake up next morning everyone a friend including the enemies of yesterday.
Why? Children hardly remember wrongdoings but hardly forget favours they received.
Isn’t it strange how this turns to be an opposite for adults? Isn’t it strange how we easily remember those that hurt us and easily forget those that helped us?
A child does not attack neighbours that wronged them, they never have any intention of killing those that wronged them.
To children, enemy means someone I will not play with, dance with and laugh with TODAY. Enmity to children ceases once it’s night and go away in sleep…
Children have no class, they have no tribes, they have no ethnic groups. No rich or poor amongst them, no beautiful or ugly. Everyone is a potential friend and playmate to them.
Children don’t believe in inequality, everyone is the same.
I wish we adults can be like children, even for a day. I wish we can forget who is bigger and smaller, who is richer and poorer, who is wicked or Saint, who is ugly and beautiful, who is intelligent and dumb.
I wish we adults for just a day mingle freely, forgetting those that hurt us. I wish we can wake up one day and see everyone our fellow humans no matter their race, country, nation, ethnic group, tribes, religion.
Happy children’s day to the purest version of humanity, children.
