I have been curious what bridal shower is about. I used to think it was about the bride taking a shower- bath, and I have wondered why that should call for publicity. Only a person who does not bath should celebrate bathing.
Then I see Nigerian brides-to-be, in company of female friends, half naked, in bed, holding balloons and smiling silly for the camera. I am put in further uncertainty as to the meaning of this new trend-bridal shower.
What I found about “bridal shower”, left me laughing drunk at the poor “copy-copy” life of
Nigerians. We like to copy but we just copy things upside down. Hahahaha!
According to Wikipedia, BRIDAL SHOWER is a gift-giving party held for a bride-to-be in anticipation of her wedding.
That is, party to “shower” the bride with gifts. The custom originated in the 1890s and
is today most common in the United States , Canada, Australia , and New Zealand .
The history of the custom is to help provide goods and finCop assistance to ensure the success of the wedding.
It was about young ladies hosting a party to “shower” their about-to-be-bride friend with gifts to assist her wedding ceremony.
Wow! Great concept.
And Nigerian girls copied it and turned it to photo shoots on bed with balloons.
I have been laughing. Hahahahaha!!! That’s how they copied feminism upside-down and now marriages are falling like leaves in harmattan.
