Nigerian Movie Industry (Nollywood) is blessed with numerous vigorous stars, those stars who are mainly actors and actresses have made names for themselves in distinguishing ways and Bob happens to be one of them. One thing I’ve noticed about Nollywood scenes is that most of the male characters tend to look more physically intimidating in real life than in many of the movie scenes, this may sound as farce but it is mainly my observation and it also does not mean others to will not have an exact opposite opinion based on the different experiences. Maybe it’s as a result of my 12 inches television or perhaps my rather archaic perception. 🙂
The sight of Charming Bob Manuel Udokwu walking majestically, full of confidence is a joy to behold, it’s a look and aura that many people tend to identify as full confidence, and to an extent – ‘the stride of a giant’. This among others earned him the tag- ‘gentle gaint’. Bob is also a locals favourite, in his hometown, he is known, loved and respected. The biggest impression you will get from him is his adorable and simplified lifestyle, the ability to blend with the locals and his native language (Igbo) speaking prowess in addition to English. In meeting Bob Manuel, one of many great things you will notice almost immediately about him is his free lifestyle that doesn’t suggest “I am a celebrity, ‘ordinary’ people should steer clear from me”. A free lifestyle filled with humility is one way to identify Bob. He has this aura that goes with him and lingers for sometime after he left.
